PF scores hat-trick


THE ruling Patriotic Front (PF)  has scooped the Chawama and Masaiti parliamentary by election and is enjoying a commanding lead in the Senga Hill by election.
In Chawama, PF candidate Lawrence Sichalwe was declared winner after polling 7, 502 while UPND’s Charles Kaselwa got 3, 219.
Returning officer Hellen Mubita this morning declared the results of the election this morning.

Meanwhile, newly elected Chawama MP Lawrence Sichalwe said he will continue with the development programs left behind by President Edgar Lungu who was area Mp becoming he was elected republican President.
And PF campaign manager for the Chawama bye election Miles Sampa was overjoyed with the victory.
From Masaiti, Hot FM staffer Logic Lukwanda reports that PF’s Michael Katambo polled 5032 votes against his closest rival Peter Mumba of the UPND who managed 2150 votes while independent candidate Lyton Mokola was third with 41 votes.
UNIP candidate Lason Musumali was 4th on 36 votes while 4th Revolution party candidate Mobby Mutaya got 16 votes and 92 votes were rejected.
Mr Katambo who held the seat under MMD before it was nullified by the courts of law due to electoral malpractice was declared winner of the Masaiti seat at exactly 04:30 Hours this morning by returning officer Modest Simuntala.
The voter turnout was poor as only 7,367 people cast their ballots against the total registered voters which stands at 26,362.
Meanwhile, Mr Katambo thanked both the PF and MMD members for ensuring success and dedicated the victory to President Edgar Lungu.
In Senga Hill, Shamwinda Tembo reports that PF’s Kapembwa Simbao is in strong lead with 5,408 votes with 10 polling stations remaining.
UPND’s Giles Yambayamba was trailing in second place with 3,292 votes from the 37 polling stations whose resulted have been counted.
The full results of the Senga Hill by elections will be announced on Hot FM as soon as they come in.
